Kenya with Kilimanjaro in Sight

Duration: 3 Days
Highlights include:
  • Satao Elera: At the foot of Mt Kilimanjaro, located in a quiet, unspoiled, unique setting in this private conservation area just south east of Amboseli National Park. Satao Elerai looks down onto the Amboseli National Park in one direction and up to Mt Kilimanjaro in the other direction, giving clients what is arguably the best location in Amboseli.
  • Amboseli National Park: Located in the Loitoktok District, Rift Valley Province of Kenya. This flat, semi arid basin at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro, has an abundance of game viewing to offer concentrating towards the centre of the park where there are a vast amount of swamps fed by the underground rivers running off the mountains. The seasonal Lake Amboseli transforms into a shallow flood in the rainy season and leaves a large part of the park a dry alluvial plain in the dry season.
  • Mount Kilimanjaro: Witness the highest mountain in Africa and the tallest free standing mountain in the world.

  • Nairobi: Explore the capital and largest city of Kenya. This busy city lies close to the equator resulting in minimal differences in seasons. Situated on the Nairobi River, the city is not only the largest and fastest growing city in Kenya, but one of the largest in Africa.
  • Masai Mara Game Reserve: Situated in south-west Kenya, within the Great Rift Valley lies one of Africa’s Greatest Wildlife Reserves, The Masai Mara. One of Africa’s most varied eco-systems and most certainly one of the top safari big game viewing eco-systems. Witness the superb plains, abundant wildlife as well as the great migration, which two million animals undertake each year. The Masai Mara is estimated to hold one of the highest lion densities in the world.
  • Lake Nakuru National Park: Protected by Lake Nakuru National Park, is one of the Rift Valley soda lakes. It lies to the south of Nakuru at an elevation of 1754m above sea level. Witness the vast amount of flamingos that nestle along the shores. The park also boasts over 400 bird species, one of the world’s highest concentrations of the Black Rhinoceros and beautiful landscapes, from the rare Tarconanthus bushlands, Euphorbia forests, and grasslands to dense forests.

  • Shaba National Reserve: Deep in the arid northern part of Kenya you will find the Shaba National Reserve. Samburu, Buffalo Springs and Shaba forms a trio of reserves unique from the other reserves found in Kenya, this protected area has impressive scenery from river-side forests, scattered woodlands and dry grasslands dominated by Mount Shaba, a volcanic mountain that lies on the border of the reserve. Shaba is also the place to see species rarely seen in other parks.
  • Ol Pejeta Conservancy: In central Kenya’s Laikipia, between the foothills of the Aberdares and Mount Kenya you will find this private conservancy. Here is an astoundingly higher wildlife-to-area ratio than any of Kenya’s National Parks. Boasting over 10000 large mammals and being the only park where chimpanzees as well as the Big Five can be seen, you can imagine the spectacular safari you will experience. On top of it all the fastest growing population of Rhino in Africa can also be found here.

  • Tsavo West National Park: Located in the Coast Province of Kenya, Tsavo West is a more popular destination on account of its brilliant scenery, guided walks along the Tsavo River, rock climbing, the Mzima Springs, its prosperous and diverse wildlife and its rhino reserve. View the variety of wildlife in this mountainous and wet park, with swamps, Lake Jipe and the Mzima Springs, a series of four natural springs, is home to copious amounts Nile crocodiles and hippos and a popular drinking spot for wildlife.
  • Mombasa: The second-largest city in Kenya, Mombasa, is no quiet seaside village. Its’ Arab, Indian and colonial European heritage makes for a wide variety of sights to see with its beachfront hotels that appeal to travellers in search of sun, sand and surf.
