Traveller's Feedback
We are finally home after our fabulous African trip and I thought I would drop you a line with some feedback. Thanks for all your hard work and for looking after us in the days before we left when Bertus was dealing with the unfortunate passing of his mum – we really appreciated your extra effort. We had a fabulous time and we have already put an itinerary on paper for 2009 so Bertus will be in touch down the track to discuss our requirements for next year. | Bagatelle Kalahari Game Reserve |
|
The lodge lies on the edge of the Southern Kalahari in the mixed tree and shrub Savanna.
The ranch is characterised by huge red sands dunes running parallel, and in a northern-westerly to south-easterly direction. Four chalets, constructed of wood and on stilts are built on top of a Kalahari sand dune, with unsurpassed views to the Southwest. The other six chalets are built in the street or valley between the dunes. These chalets are built of 'hay bales' with walls 600mm thick, the insulation and atmosphere are equally effective and tranquil. The main difference between the two styles of chalets besides the construction method, is the fact that the dune chalets have a bath and shower, while the 'hay bale' chalets only have a shower. The standard and quality of finish is the same for all our chalets, with exquisite décor and equipped to exceed your expectations. Offer nature drives and sundowners on the red dunes of the Kalahari. |

| Canon Lodge |
|
Dazzling blue skies arched over the yellow blooms of quiver trees on vast barren plains bordering the second largest canyon on earth. The lodge is only 20 km from the Fish River Canyon. Canon Lodge consists of 25 bungalows, which are designed to blend with massive granite boulders, each with natural rock walls, thatched roof and little veranda - experiencing nature at its closest. Nestled against massive granite boulders, you will feel that you are living in the lap of nature. Linger at the restaurant and take a closer look at the carefully arranged decoration from the pioneering days of farming. For exploring the park on your own the choice is between horse, four-wheel drive and walking stick. Or just relax with a book on our terrace shaded by trees or at the swimming pool. Seeing the winding gorges of the canyon from the air, from a Cessna, could well be the highlight of your holiday. |
